KARACHI – A lawmaker of ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) announced joining the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in a meeting with party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday.
Bhawan Das, a member of National Assembly met the former president at Zardari House in Nawabshah.
Sindh Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar, MNA Ghulam Mustafa Shah and PPP Sindh Information Secretary Aajiz Dhamrah among others were also present on the occasion.
Das, hailing from Sindh’s Sanghar district, was elected MNA on a minority seat on PML-N ticket in 2013.
Earlier in the day, another Hindu lawmaker Ramesh Kumar quit the PML-N to join Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf (PTI), saying the ruling party was unable to address the issues of minorities.
