ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – A five-member team of British investigators will arrive in Pakistan next week, which will investigate the high-profile murder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Imran Farooq.
As the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had earlier said that Pakistan has given a go-ahead to the British authorities to investigate the suspects of Imran Farooq murder case, who are under custody of the Pakistani institutions, according to news channels.
Sources privy to all developments on Wednesday told that a five-member British team will be arriving in Pakistan to grill the suspects. The team will also have officials of the British intelligence agency MI-6.
British investigators will be questioning the suspect Mohsin Ali and later under the light of his statement they will cross-examine another suspect named Moazzam Ali, who was arrested from Karachi a few months ago.
Sources said following the investigations by the team, British authorities may ask for handing over these suspects to them, but for that Pakistan will be formally requested.
It was added that Pakistan and United Kingdom (UK) have complete understanding regarding the case and chances are bright that the suspects can be handed over to UK if a formal request is made.
