Imran Khan, Asif Zardari pictured shaking hands amid NA s inaugural sitting

ISLAMABAD – Former president Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief, Imran Khan shook hands at the inaugural session of 15th National Assembly, however, the rare interaction was not reported on mainstream media.

The in-waiting prime minister and co-chairman of Pakistan peoples Party met during the swearing-in ceremony on Monday, with the latter appearing visibly happy at the meeting.

Imran Khan, who took oath as a legislator and is expected to take oath as a chief executive of the country on August 18, also met PPP chief, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari inside the assembly hall.

Imran Khan and Zardari met for the first time in the public eye though the brief interaction was not shown on leading channels which were showing the live feed of PTV parliament – a channel intended to show the proceedings of the Lower Chamber of the House.

As many as 324 lawmakers took oath of their office and signed the roll call register following which the landmark National Assembly session was adjourned.
