Overseas Pakistani’s house set on fire, demolished in Hafizabad over alleged involvement in murder

GUJRANWALA – The house of an overseas Pakistani was set on fire and bulldozed in Hafizabad city of Punjab over alleged involvement in a murder.

Police said the incident took place in Asadullah Pur area in late August when a group of 20 people attacked the house.

They not only looted the cash, jewelry during the attack but also set the house on fire and demolished it with a crane.

The police have filed a case against the suspects for the attack, looting, and demolition of the building on a complaint filed Samiya Munir, the wife of the overseas Pakistani named Muhammad Hussain.

The complainant said her husband is an overseas Pakistani who has been living abroad for a long time. On August 29, the suspects attacked the house, stole Rs1 million and 20 tolas of jewelry, and set fire to the one-kanal house using petrol.

They also brought a crane with them, which was used to destroy the walls, rooms, ceiling, and pillars of the house.

The woman stated that after the destruction of her home, she and her young son are now homeless. She urged the police to arrest the suspects and bring them to justice.

On the other hand, the police said that the suspects believed that the overseas Pakistani was allegedly involved in the killing of their relative.

Police have launched a search operation to arrest the suspects.
