ISLAMABAD – Seemingly confident about the victory in upcoming general polls set to be held on July 25, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan will contest elections from five National Assembly constituencies.
Imran Khan had submitted nomination papers for NA-53 (Islamabad), NA-95 (Mianwali), NA-131 Lahore, NA-243 in Karachi and NA-35.
Amid the election fever, a survey conducted by Roshan Pakistan in the five constituencies has revealed surprising details, claiming that Khan will easily bag victory from NA-95 (Mianwali) against PML-N candidate Haji Ubaidullah as he has 71 percent chances to win in the hometown constituency.
In NA-53 (Islamabad), the PTI chief will be facing former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi where, according to the survey, former will give tough time to Khan. The NA-53 contest is being considered one of the major election battlefield. As per opinion survey, Khan has 48% chances to win against Abbasi’s 38%.
The survey data shows the PTI chief would have to face defeat in NA-35 (Bannu) where Akram Khan Durrani, a candidate of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), has a strong position with 42% opinion polls in his favour. The chances of Khan’s victory in this constituency are mere 29%.
In NA-243, a strongholdof Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), the cricketer-turned-politician will be facing MQM’s Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui and PPP’s Shehla Raza. Siddqui is leading the polls with 35% followed by Khan 32% and Raza 17%.
However, the data about the NA-131 (Lahore) where PML-N’s Khawaja Saad Rafique will be facing the PTI chief has not been shared so far.
