KARACHI (Staff Report) – At least six people including four members of proscribed Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) were killed and two injured in separate incidents of firing in different parts of Karachi on Friday.
As per details, three men, appeared to be ‘religious scholars’, were shot in the Shafiq Mor area of North Karachi.
Separately, two men were shot and wounded critically near Fatima Bai Hospital in Patel Para area of Jamshed Quarters police.
“They were transported to Civil Hospital Karachi where doctors pronounced Mohammed Amin, 30, as dead on arrival,” said a police official.
An ASWJ spokesman claimed all four victims were associated with the banned group.
The fifth person, identified as Usman, was shot in the head in Hyderi area. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Separately, in Hyderi area, three locals were wounded after which one of them named Shafiqur Rehman succumbed to his critical condition.
