Imran Khan won t assume premiership without MQM, Faisal Sabzwari taunts PTI

KARACHI – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has started showing its muscles to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after the latter’s Karachi President Shamim Naqvi expressed his reservations over the alliance between the two parties at the federal level.

MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari while addressing a press conference on Friday said that Imran Khan won’t be able to become prime minister without the support of his party.

Sabzwari’s comments came after PTI’s Firdous Naqvi stated that they had joined hands with the MQM out of compulsion, instead of a choice, to secure 172 seats in the National Assembly.

“We [MQM] lent our support to the PTI because the PPP has always disappointed the people of Sindh,” MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari responded and warned that if statements like this continue to be passed then it’ll be difficult to work together in the future.

Moreover, Karachi Mayor, Waseem Akhtar said that those politicians that target him do it for their own political gains.

“He [Naqvi] should ask his party leadership how vital we [MQM] are in their future plans,” said and added that such remarks are only made for cheap political publicity.

Meanwhile, MQM leader Khawaja Izharul Hassan called for Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen to take action against Naqvi, who is poised as the next opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly.
