PTI to mull safe exit from Gulali s plot today

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party will meet today (Monday) to design a strategy to tackle the situation after allegations levelled by former PTI member Ayesha Gulalai, local media reported.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan will head the huddle where party stalwarts will share their views regarding setting up a parliamentary ‘Code of Conduct’ committee to investigate the Gulalai’s claims against Khan.

The current political scenario ahead of ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s plans to go to Lahore via GT Road will also be discussed in the meeting.

The PTI has also invited Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid to attend the meeting, which will take place at 2:30pm.

‘Inappropriate Messages’

Ayesha Gulalai while announcing her decision to leave the party alleged that Imran Khan sent her inappropriate text messages.

Speaking to the media, she alleged that the reason for her leaving the party was that the honour of women was not safe, stating that Imran Khan was a major reason behind it.

“I did not leave the party over the issue of NA-1,” she said, adding that she had to go through mental agony due to the situation.

‘Parliamentary Committee’

On Friday while addressing the House, Prime Minister Khaqan Abbasi proposed the formation of a parliamentary committee to probe the allegations hurled by Gulalai, adding that the issue relates to two lawmakers and to uphold the sanctity of the house, it needed to be resolved.
