NAB judge video prepared in media house, asserts Firdaus Ashiq Awan

ISLAMABAD – Special Assistant to the prime minister on Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan claimed on Sunday that the video of accountability court judge Arshad Malik was prepared in a media house and action will be taken against it as per the PEMRA rules and regulations.

Addressing a press conference in Sialkot, Awan said the government has decided to carry out the forensic audit of the audio and video presented by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader, Maryam Nawaz regarding the accountability court judge.

The special assistant she said those elements who prepared this audio and video will also be exposed adding that the very press release of accountability court judge has exposed the lies of Maryam Nawaz and the PML (N) leadership.

She said this video is also part of the conspiracy to hoodwink and misguide the masses.

Maryam Nawaz’s news conference was a suicide attack on its own party, Awan said.

The special assistant continued that it has always been the hallmark of the PML (N) to target, challenge and malign the state institutions such as the judiciary but added that they cannot escape and avoid accountability through such ‘cheap’ tactics.

Nobody is above the law and everybody is subservient to it, Awan said.

The media interaction came after Accountability Court Judge, Arshad Malik issued a press release and dismissed the allegations hurled by Maryam Nawaz.

“If I had to give verdict under pressure or bribe, I would not have sentenced Nawaz Sharif in one jail and acquit him in another,” he stated in a press release.
