ISLAMABAD – For the first time in the aviation history of Pakistan, world’s largest passenger aircraft, A380, landed at the New Islamabad International Airport on Sunday.
The flight of UAE’s national airline Emirates reached Pakistan earlier today carrying over 600 passengers, including members of Royal family and Pakistan’s ambassador to the country, from Dubai.
From now on, four flight in a week will be operated between Islamabad and Dubai.

On July 3, the Civil Aviation Authority had granted permission to Emirates airline for the historic landing. Earlier, no Pakistani airport has the facility for the landing of the biggest airplane.
The double-decker plane stands 80-foot high from the ground and has a speed of 945 kilometers per hour with its four powerful turbo engines.
The giant airplane weighs 577 tons, its length is 240 feet and the wingspan is 260 feet. A380 can accommodate up to 868 passengers. It has the capacity to carry 323,545 liters of fuel, which is equal to 85,471 gallons.
