ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday said that it was not in favour of forming a commission and will boycott if is formed.
Under a five-member bench led by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, PTI’s lawyer Naeem Bukhari asserted that the PTI will boycott the inquiry commission and its implications adding it will only accept the Apex court’s verdict and if PTI fails to prove their allegations, the court should give its decision according to the law.
Responding to the party’s strong reservations for inquiry commission, cases which pertain to the public interest, a heavy responsibility is on the court. He stated that the court do not want any aggrieved party to claim that they were not heard by the Supreme Court.
A five-member bench led by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali resumed hearing of the Panama Leaks case on Friday on petitions filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and other parties.
In the last hearing, the Supreme Court asked all parties to decide over the formation of a commission. The commission will comprise one judge and be able to call anyone as part of the probe.
