September 18 Lunar Eclipse: When and where to watch second ‘Chand Grahan’?

LAHORE – Stargazers are already excited as next lunar eclipse of 2024 is set for September 18, but this time, it will not be visible in Pakistan.

This partial eclipse will be observable across US, some European nation, Australia, Africa, and parts of northern and eastern Asia. The event will commence at 5:41 AM Pakistan Standard Time when the Earth’s outer shadow begins to touch the moon.

The partial eclipse will start at 7:12 AM, reach its peak at 7:44 AM with a segment of the moon obscured by the Earth’s shadow, and end at 8:15 AM. The penumbral phase will conclude by 9:47 AM.

As Pakistan will miss out on viewing this eclipse, skywatchers around the world will watch the rare astronimical phenomenon. It’s worth noting that the first lunar eclipse of this year, which took place in March, was also not visible in Pakistan.
