Will there be two holidays in Pakistan on Rabiul Awal 11, 12?

KARACHI – Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori has asked the federal government to announce to holidays across the country to celebrate the Eid Miladun Nabi, the birth anniversary of Holy Prophet (PBUH).

Tessori said he would write to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, requesting him declare public holidays on Rabiul Awal 11 and 12 to mark the significant day with religious zeal and zest.

He said the birth anniversary of Holy Prophet (PBUH) holds great significant for Muslims across the world.

The Rabiul Awal 11 and 12 will fall on September 16 and 17 (Monday and Tuesday) this year as the third Islamic month has commenced.

It is recalled that the federal government has announced a public holiday on September 17 (Tuesday) on account of Eid Miladun Nabi.

It is yet to see whether the prime minister approves the request of the Sindh governor for declaring two holidays in Pakistan on Rabiul Awal 11 and 12.

The 12th Rabi ul Awwal, also known as Eid Milad-un-Nabi, holds immense significance in the Islamic calendar. It is a day of deep reflection and celebration, as it marks the birth of the Prophet (PBUH), whose life and teachings continue to inspire billions of people worldwide.

In Pakistan, the day is traditionally observed with great reverence through processions, special prayers, and religious gatherings. In cities and towns throughout Pakistan, preparations for the occasion are already underway. Homes, streets, and buildings are being adorned with lights and banners, while various religious organizations are planning events to celebrate the day.
