Pakistan at three-day war against Polio

KARACHI/LAHORE (Staff Report) – A three-day anti-polio campaign kicked off across the country on Monday.

The polio vaccination drive is being carried out in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta and other cities of Pakistan.

This year, six cases of polio have been reported in the country as compared to 54 cases reported last.

Health officials said that malnourishment increases chances of a child catching the crippling virus, therefore, they require over 10 doses of the polio vaccine to boost their immunity to resist the virus.
