LAHORE (Staff Report) – Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has said that government is ready for transparent and neutral investigation into Panama papers from any state institution.
In an interview, he said that government can appoint serving judges to probe the allegations hurled in Panama Papers if none of the retired judges agreed to head the commission. Already five retired judges have declined government’s offer to head an inquiry commission, he added.
On the occasion, he also regretted that the opposition has politicized the matter for point scoring.
Saad Rafique said that PML-N will consult parliamentary leaders of opposition parties including PTI to evolve a consensus over forming an independent inquiry commission.
