Kurram Agency locals spill into streets in support of Pak Army after border clashes with Afghanistan

PESHAWAR – Scores of locals in Kurram Agency of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) came out on the streets, in a show of solidarity with the armed forces of Pakistan after two soldiers were martyred in an attack from Afghanistan near the border on Sunday.

According to a report by Kurram News – a local media outlet – the citizens pledged their allegiance to Pakistan Army and vowed to protect the homeland, in the face of Afghan aggression.

The natives stated that they would stand by their army at a time when it was being provoked by the neighbouring country.

They were of the view that Pakistan was being threatened by the nexus of India, Israel and United States, but they were firm in their commitment to sacrificing their lives to defend their country.

It bears mentioning that at least two security officials were martyred and five others were left injured in an attack from Afghanistan near the border in Lower Kurram, according to Inter-Services Public Relations.

The military’s media wing continued that the troops of Frontier Constabulary were carrying out routine surveillance along the border for plugging of gaps and making necessary preparations for starting fencing in that area, when the attack was launched.

“Pakistani troops are exercising maximum restraint so as to avoid any Afghan civilian casualties. Mil engagement is underway to defuse the situation.” the statement added.
