Pakistan summons Indian Deputy High Commissioner to protest over baseless allegations

ISLAMABAD – The Foreign Office summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia and lodged a strong protest over baseless allegations made by India, the Radio Pakistan reported.

The foreign office has rejected unfounded allegations of India on Pakistan in the aftermath of a suicide attack in the Occupied Kashmir.

Ahluwalia was also handed over a demarche which strongly rejected any insinuation by elements in Indian government and media circles that seek to link the attack to the State of Pakistan without investigations and prof.

Indian High Commissioner Ajay Basaria also left Islamabad after being called back by India.

The Indian government has threatened to isolate Pakistan at international level, blaming Pakistan for Pulwama attack.

India has also withdrawn the ‘Most-Favoured Nation’ status to Pakistan, blaming the neighbouring country for a deadly terror attack in the occupied valley of Kashmir.

On Thursday, at least 44 Indian paramilitary police personnel were killed and many others injured when their convoy targeted with a car bomb at Awantipora area of Indian controlled Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Indian police said that a car filled with explosives rammed a bus carrying the officers to Srinagar.

On Friday, Pakistan’s Foreign Office expressed grave concern on the Pulwama attack.

In a statement, FO Spokesperson Dr Faisal said: “we have always condemned heightened acts of violence in the Valley”.

Pakistan and India each claim the divided territory of Kashmir in its entirety. Most Kashmiris support the rebel cause that the territory be united either under Pakistani rule or as an independent country while also participating in civilian street protests against Indian control.

India, which has deployed over 500,000 troops in the tiny Muslim-majority region, accuses Pakistan of arming and training the rebels, a charge Pakistan denies.

Nearly 100,000 people have been killed in the uprising and the ensuing Indian military crackdown.
