LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif termed the plea bargain offered by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to accused persons a ‘fraud”, adding that corruption of billions of rupees was neglected against “a few pennies”.
CM Shehbaz said that reviewing the plea bargain of the accountability department was essential. It cannot be claimed that corruption does not exist in the country, but efforts are being made to eliminate it.
He slammed the plea bargain made by NAB in Balochistan with former finance secretary Mushtaq Raisani and others accused persons in corruption cases. He said that culprits were punished in civilised societies ever after plea bargain.
The chief minister also said that automatic attendance systems would be installed in the hospitals.
