ISLAMABAD – General Raheel Sharif, Chief of the Army Staff, paid farewell visit to Air Headquarters in Islamabad today (Saturday).
On his arrival at Air Headquarters, he was received by Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force.
A prestigious Guard of Honour was also presented to the outgoing army chief. He was also introduced to the Principle Staff Officers of Pakistan Air Force.
Later on he called on Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force in his office.
The Air Chief appreciated General Raheel’s services in strengthening the defence of Pakistan and contributing towards an unprecedented Tri-Service synergy.
He added that Pak Army and the PAF worked jointly during Operation Zarb-e-Azb to root out the scourge of terrorism from the country.
General Raheel appreciated the thorough professionalism and firm resolve of PAF personnel to safeguard the aerial frontiers of Pakistan.
He also expressed his satisfaction on the seamless coordination between the sister services and wished to take it to further heights.
Gen Raheel is all set to complete his term on Novmber 29 and now a days, he is making farewell visits all over Pakistan.
Earlier, on Thursday Premier Minister Nawaz Sharif Paid tribute to the Chief, the premier lauded the Zarb-e-Azb operation and said the entire world acknowledged the achievements of the mission, adding the general proved himself to be a great fighter and military leader through relentless hard work and efforts.
Gen Raheel also met president Mamnooon on Friday for farewell dinner where Mamnoon Hussain appreciated efforts of outgoing military head.
