ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Despite India’s relentless rant against Pakistan, the Obama administration seems unimpressed by the evidences provided by India against Pakistan for its involvement in Uri attack.
Top diplomatic officials who are well aware of the changing dynamics in South-Asia after the Uri attack have confirmed to local newspapers that India’s allegations of Pakistan’s role behind Uri assault fall on a stony ground after US gave a cold shoulder to the evidences provided against Pakistan.
Although the Indian media pointed fingers at Pakistan soon after the attack without any formal inquiry, Pakistan refuted Indian claims saying it played no role in killing of 18 soldiers on September 18.
Requesting anonymity, an official disclosed the reason why US was left unconvinced after analysing the prospects of Uri attack.
“The US is aware of the fact that the Line of Control (LoC) is fenced and heavily manned by border guards from the two sides, so it is extremely difficult for anyone to cross over and launch an attack” he said.
The official observed the statements from PM Nawaz and US Secretary of State John Kerry depict that the superpower did not support India’s position that Pakistan had any role in the Uri attack.
“In fact, it shows that the US also thinks that the Uri attack may have been linked with ongoing violence in Kashmir rather than a cross-border activity,” the official added.
Us is keenly observing the situation in the region and according to media reports, it is pressing New Delhi to stay away from any sort of military showdown that could spark  nuclear battle.
We have long urged India and Pakistan to find ways to resolve their differences, not through violence, but through diplomacy,” White House spokesperson Josh Earnest said.
The defence analysts were of the view that scathing rejoinder from Pakistani side and cold response from US retreated India which was going aggressive earlier.
Foreign Office spokesperson Nafees Zakaria also told Express Tribune that America pushed India back and persuaded Pakistan’s neighbour to hold the horses and stop bloodshed in Indian occupied Kashmir.
