ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Top MQM leader Farooq Sattar on Friday insisted not a single culprit was arrested from Nine-Zero in the Rangers raid.
The party completely stands by the ongoing targeted operation of Rangers and Police in Karachi, Sattar told media after a meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif along with other MQM delegates, adding a specific party should not be targeted.
The meeting was convened at the Prime Minister’s House on MQM’s request.
Sattar argued not a single target killer was arrested from the MQM headquarters in the raid of paramilitary forces. The (arrested) culprits could have been apprehended from the surrounding areas, he maintained.
“Media needs to realize the difference between a convicted and an alleged person,” he said while complaining about his party’s victimisation after the Nine-Zero raid.
He expressed grief over his party’s negative depiction in the media, saying “MQM lost as many as 200 workers at the hands of targeted killers in Karachi”. The justice must not be denied, he urged.
Sattar once again questioned the authenticity and source of Saulat Mirza’s videotape, released from his death cell, in which MQM activist was seen hurling allegations at party chief Altaf Hussain.
“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has assured to investigate the matter of Saulat Mirza’s video recording,” he added.
To a question about the release of Imran Khan’s audio tape, Sattar said the PTI chief has gone morally bankrupt following the release of the audio tape in which he appreciated the attack on state-run television by his party activists.
Other MQM delegates included Rasheed Godil and Kahlid Maqbool Siddiqui.
Siddiqui, on the occasion, blamed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan for his anti-democratic stance while mentioning an audio tape consisting of a discussion between Arif Alvi and Khan. PTI should explain the whole controversy, he said.
