LAHORE (Web Desk) – Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, head of Jamaatud Dawa (JuD), who has time and again branded India as a terrorist state for decades-long brutality on Kashmiris, disclosed on Saturday he was the first person to fire a rocket into Indian checkpoints in the Kargil war in 1999, Daily Pakistan Global reported.
India has accused Saeed of masterminding the 2008 Mumbai attacks. But he has not only condemned the incident but also clarified he had nothing to do with the attacks of 26/11.
“I consider India as the worst enemy of Pakistan,” Saeed remarked as he called the nuclear power a “terrorist state” and blamed it for sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan under a pre-meditated conspiracy.
The United States has offered $10 million bounty on Saeed and listed him as the most wanted terrorist after attacks in India killed 166 people, among them six US citizens.
Saeed, while referring to the ongoing anti-terrorism operation Zarb-e-Azb, acknowledged that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif were fighting the scourge together.
The JuD chief also said Pakistani nation would leave no stone unturned to end Indian occupation of Kashmir. “The day is not far when the Kashmiris will be free,” concluded Saeed while addressing a book-launching ceremony at a local hotel here.
The JuD has recently got its bank accounts frozen. In November 2008, at least ten gunmen went on a shooting and bombing spree in sprawling Mumbai, killing 166 people and wounding 300 others, over three days.
One of the attackers, Ajmal Qasab, who was held alive after Indian forces cleared the attack site, was hanged last year.
Zaki Urrehman Lakhvi, a Lashkar-e-Taiba associate, is currently standing a trial over the same charges in Pakistan.
