ISLAMABAD — A helicopter of Mari Petroleum has crashed in northwestern Pakistan, causing six deaths. The cause of the incident is said to be due to technical failure.
The Mil Mi-8 chopper was operated by Mari Petroleum Company was carrying 14 individuals, including two foreign pilots, when it crashed after attempting an emergency landing due to engine failure.
Reports said heli’s tail rotor struck the ground, causing tragic crash. Authorities have ruled out terrorism as a cause and are investigating the incident to determine the precise cause and circumstances.
Those who were injured were transported to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Thal for medical treatment, where their conditions are reported to be critical.
As the latest incident sparked concerns among residents, authorities started probe to look into cause of the accident and to enhance safety protocols for future flights.
