LAHORE – The Supreme Court strictly warned the National Accountability Bureau over alleged harassment of government officers during the course of inquiries on Saturday.
‘We would not tolerate disrespect of any officer and you would not be standing here if we receive any such complaint’, the CJPÂ remarked.
According to media reports, the Director General of the anti-graft watchdog briefed the court with initial reports about different cases including working of public-sector companies in the province.
The DG NAB ensured the top court that the officers on their visit to the NAB office were served tea, coffee and mineral water at the air-conditioned reception room.
At this, Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Saeed expressed that he did not want to reveal now the treatment meted out to the officers at the NAB office on their visits.
He asserted that the chief executive officers of the public companies would disclose it themselves before the court.
