CM Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman lays foundation stone of first cardiac hospital in Gilgit

GILGIT CITY – Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman laid the foundation stone of first ever 50-bed cardiac hospital of Gilgit Baltistan yesterday.

The area notables, public representatives, top government and army officials attended the function. The National Logistics Cell (NLC) will be the executing agency of the project.

On the occasion, the CM said the project would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs1.58 billion, which were allocated in Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP). The hospital would be completed in a record time of 18 months, he added.

CM Hafiz said the sitting government of GB had asked the federal government to put that project in PSDP keeping in view its importance and the problems of GB people.

The CM further stated that after completion of this mega and important project heart patients from Gilgit Baltistan would receive up to date cardiac facilities.

He said there is no deadlock between the federal government and provincial government of Gilgit Baltistan regarding development projects despite of a cut in development budget by the federal government.

Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman appreciated the role of FWO and NLC in the development of Gilgit Baltistan and ensured every possible assistance to them by provincial government.

He thanked and appreciated the role of Pakistan army for donating 40 Kamal land worth Rs.1 billion for medical college in Gilgit.
