PESHAWAR – At least nine people, including three security personnel, were injured in a blast on Peshawar’s Charsadda road here on Tuesday.
According to police, a contingent of Frontier Corps (FC) personnel was on their way near Chary Pul on Charsadda road when their vehicle was targeted through a bomb planted on the roadside.
As a result of the explosion, six civilians and three security men were left injured. All the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
Security officials cordoned off the area and started preliminary investigations. No one has claimed responsibility for the blast.
Roadside blasts in war-torn KPK province are common and several law enforcement personnel have been targeted in the past as well.
On January 23, at least six security personnel were injured in a blast in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Tank district.
In September last year, at least seven police officials were injured when a roadside bomb targeting a Rapid Response Force (RRF) van, exploded at Warsak Road, near Darmangi Village. In another attack, the same month, two of the security men were killed.
