ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday reached Islamabad on a brief tour to discuss on his way back home from Indonesia.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif welcomed the Turkish President on airport upon his maiden visit to Islamabad since he took over the presidential post.
During the brief meeting both leaders discussed the matters of mutual interest of Turkey and Pakistan and agreed to enhance cooperation in various sectors. They also exchanged views on the rising threat of Islamic State militants.
Earlier Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had visit Ankara to meet the president to discuss Yemen crisis which resulted in Erdogan’s tour to Tehran to emphasize a dialogue between Houthi fighters and Saudi Arabia this year.
