KHANEWAL – A nine-year-old boy was allegedly raped and murdered in Punjab’s Kabirwala district, police said on Tuesday.
The deceased, Faizan, went to his Madrassah on Monday evening and never returned. His family started searching for him and his body was found from fields, the police added.
Police said it arrested a neighbour named Shabbir on the basis of suspicion, who upon investigation, confessed to the crime.
A first information report (FIR) has been registered of this case. The body was subsequently sent for an autopsy.
As many as 11 cases of child sexual abuse are reported from across Pakistan every day, according to data collected by non-governmental organisation Sahil.
