LAHORE – The Lahore High Court has granted a 14-day extension to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz Sharif to stay in London.
Hamza’s counsel, Azam Nazeer Tarar filed Hamza’s petition today on behalf of the PML-N leader which was accepted.
In his petition, Hamza Shehbaz had sought relief so he could stay with his new-born daughter who has been diagnosed with a serious cardiac issue and must undergo surgery.
Hamza Shehbaz arrived in London on February 3 after the Lahore High Court approved Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader one-time permission to leave the country.
Sharif had initially been granted permission for a period of ten-days and his name was removed from the Exit Control List.
The lawmaker is facing investigations by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) into the Ramzan Sugar Mills and holding assets beyond his known sources of income.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz has started efforts for the appointment of Hamza Shehbaz as the chairman of Public Accounts Committee; his father Shehbaz Sharif serves as the chairman of PAC at the federal level.
