General Pasha was recruiting for PTI: Khawaja Asif

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has on Monday said that former DG ISI Lieutenant General (r) Ahmed Shuja Pasha acted as a recruiting officer for Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) at one time. He said that two former generals were behind the sit-ins. “Time will hold them accountable. We will provide proofs if needed”, said Asif, reported Dunya News.

In an interview with a private TV channel Dunya News show host, Khawaja Asif said that Lt. Gen. (r) Pasha even acted as a recruitment officer for PTI at one time. He said that Pasha pursued his political agenda while being on-duty.

“It is a blessing of Allah that we survived the sit-in and were successful in the judicial commission as well. Now we need to move on”, said Asif. He said that time will hold the people behind the sit-ins accountable.

Khawaja Asif said that ups and downs are a regular feature in civil-military relationships but there is excellent cooperation between the civilian and military leaders of the country right now. He said that the government and the military leadership or on the same page on national issues.
