ISLAMABAD – The ambassador of Germany to Pakistan, Martin Kobler posted his farewell message on microblogging website saying, he was leaving the country with a sad heart.
In the video message showing Kobler wearing a black sherwani, the envoy said he had two rewarding years of his life in Pakistan and would return as a tourist in future.
“I spent two of the most wonderful years in Pakistan which were professionally awarding but also rewarding in my private life. I discovered so many beauties of your country,” the envoy said.
“Despite all the difficulties you might have in the political world, social and economic fields, I’m very confident that Pakistan will make away to peace and prosperity,” Kobler observed.
He wished a good future to the Pakistani public, especially youth before saying thanks for giving him a wonderful time.

The outgoing official called on President Arif Alvi in Islamabad on Tuesday. President Alvi congratulated Martin Kobler on successful completion of his tenure as Ambassador of Germany to Pakistan, Radio Pakistan reported.

Martin Kobler came into the limelight through Twitter where he shared his daily activities with the audience, be it trying Biryani at a roadside restaurant or urging the public to save energy.
He won Pakistan over with some of his tweets. The 66-year-old diplomat also tweeted in Urdu for better engagement with public.
