CM Buzdar not affiliated with any intra-PTI faction

LAHORE – Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar clarified on Thursday that he was not affiliated with any of the group within the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

“I am only affiliated with the PTI,” Buzdar said in brief interaction with newsmen.

Regarding the anonymous letter received by the National Accountability Bureau about the alleged mismanagement in insurance of state-owned helicopter, Buzdar replied that he would appear before the National Accountability Bureau if summoned.

The chief minister said he doesn’t know how to react to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ‘sahiba’ remark about Pakistan Peoples Party chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari; the comment had sparked controversy.

Usman Buzdar shared that all the cabinet members and the elected officials will visit the reception hosted by Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar.

New PA Building

Chief Minister Punjab directed that new building of Punjab Assembly should be completed soon as the Punjab government would provide funds on priority for it

A meeting was held between Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in which progress on under construction new building of the Punjab Assembly was reviewed; the meeting was held in committee room of the Punjab Assembly.

Usan Buzdar said the past government was responsible for delay in the project as funds were not allocated during the previous regime; he also directed that construction of new MPAs hostel should also be completed soon.

On the other hand, Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that hurdles in the project should be focused and expressed the hope that construction work would be completed during the current year.  A briefing was given about progress on the project and the design of new MPAs hostel was also given approval.

Provincial Ministers Raja Basharat, Ch Zaheerud Din, Asif Nakai, the secretary Punjab Assembly and others attended the meeting.
