LAHORE – Federal Minister for Narcotics Control and former Sindh chief minister Ali Muhammad Mehar has died after suffering a heart attack in Lahore.
According to media reports, family sources have confirmed that he died of cardiac arrest. He was shifted to a local hospital early morning today after the heart attack where he could not survive the sudden cardiac arrest.
Ali Muhammad Mehar’s body has been shifted to his residence, where the timings of his funeral prayers will be announced shortly.
Ali Muhammad Mehar was Federal Minister for Narcotics Control since 4 October 2018. He had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018.
Previously, he was a member of the National Assembly from 2008 and May 2018 and a member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh from 2002 to 2007. He also served as the 25th Chief Minister of Sindh from 2002 to 2004.
