PM Imran, Qatar s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad hold one-to-one meeting

ISLAMABAD –Prime Minister Imran Khan received Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Nur Khan airbase on Saturday.

After according a rousing welcome, Qatar’s Emir was taken to the PM Secretariat where he was presented with a guard of honour.

Laterwards, he had a one-to-one meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The visiting arrived in Pakistan on a two-day visit from June 22-23, on the invitation extended by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The Qatari royal is being accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising key ministers and senior officials.

During his stay in Islamabad, Al Thani will hold talks with Khan and President Arif Alvi to “discuss ways and means of building a robust and mutually beneficial economic partnership”.

Several memorandums of understanding or agreements “for enhanced bilateral cooperation in different areas” are expected to be signed between Islamabad and Qatar.

“The two sides will discuss ways and means of building a robust and mutually beneficial economic partnership. During the visit, Pakistan and Qatar will sign MoUs/agreements for enhanced bilateral cooperation in different areas,” the Foreign Office had announced earlier.

Earlier, officials claimed that the Qatari Amir likely to announce major investment in Pakistan during his visit to Islamabad.

Al Thani previously visited Pakistan in March 2015.
