LAHORE- Nisar Nasik, the lyricist of the national song Dil Dil Pakistan, passed away at the age of 85.
According to reports, the lyricist succumbed to physical illness earlier in the morning at the Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi.
Dil Dil Pakistan was sung by the famous pop band Vital Signs’ lead vocalist, Junaid Jamshed, in 1987 who rose to success with it. He remained associated with Radio Pakistan throughout his life and also wrote songs for Pakistan Television (PTV). He is the author of two books titled, Chothi Simat Ka Musafir and Dil Dil Pakistan.
The legendary Urdu and Punjabi poet was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by PTV for his contributions to literature.
