ISLAMABAD – An accountability court in Islamabad extended the physical remand of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Faryal Talpur by 14 days.
Pakistan Peoples Party leader, Faryal Talpur appeared before an accountability court on Monday in the high-profile fake bank accounts case.
During the hearing, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), while requesting an extension in the remand of the PPP leader, stated that she had attended a recent National Assembly session on production orders.
Accountability Court Judge, Arshad Malik conducted the hearings of the case in which as many as 30 individuals including former president Asif Ali Zardari are named as accused.
Faryal Talpur was arrested by the anti-graft body last month, however, she was not imprisoned in any jail and instead Zardari House, Islamabad was notified as a sub-jail by the NAB chairman.

Pakistan Peoples Party Co-Chairman, Asif Ali Zardari is already in the custody of NAB in the same case which pertains to the alleged laundering of money through fake bank accounts opened in private banks.
As per a report of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) submitted to the Supreme Court, money to the tune of Rs100 billion was laundered through bank accounts.
