Imran says foreign powers conspired to bring Shehbaz Sharif into power

PESHAWAR – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan said the country’s economy is sinking fast since PML-N came to power, saying global agencies have downgraded Pakistan’s ranking.

Addressing a rally in the Upper Dir region of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Khan maintained that the United States, Israel, and India conspired against Pakistan to bring Shehbaz Sharif to power.

Revealing the motive behind the ‘regime change’, he mentioned that Sharif obey all orders from his ‘masters’, saying the first of which was increase in petrol price as intended by the global lender.

Khan termed the massive surge in petroleum prices ‘inhumane’, adding that his government took a stand despite IMF’s pressure. He recalled that the PTI regime had even slashed petrol prices.

PTI chief maintained that his government wanted to save distressed Pakistanis from price hikes and aimed to get funds from elsewhere to offer respite from inflation.

Addressing the charged crown in the country’s northwestern region, he said the only way to free Pakistan from economic ruin and enslavement was through early elections, adding that the people should decide which government they wanted in the country.

Taking a hit at coalition government members, he alleged that Shehbaz came into power to get relief from corruption cases which he was going to be punished for. Khan claimed that there were cases concerning frauds of Rs16 billion in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Rs8 billion in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against Shehbaz and his family.
