ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to run for the slot of Speaker in National Assembly of Pakistan, said Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference after a meeting PTI parliamentary committee he said that Shafqat Mahmood will be his party’s candidate for the seat.
On the occasion Qureshi said that PTI is democratic party and it will utilise right to contest the election. We will not leave an open filed for Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), he added.
On the other hand PML-N has approached all the political parties to seek support for election of a unanimous NA Speaker. The party has decided to field Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for the election once again.
The lower house of parliament is due to meet on November 6. The election of NA Speaker is also expected in this session.
