UN chief calls Modi s Lahore visit a step in right direction

NEW YORK (Staff Report)- United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon has welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Lahore where he held an-hour-long meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The UN chief expressed hope that the dialogue between the two countries will be maintained and strengthened.

In a statement a UN spokesman said , this is a step in the right direction and Secretary General has long been encouraging both leaders of the two countries to engage in dialogue.

Narendra Modi Friday became first Indian Prime Minister to visit Pakistan in last ten years.
