ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif will Monday (today) lead a high-level delegation to Tajikistan to participate in a two-day Joint Commission meeting being held at Dushanbe to finalize laying of transmission line for one thousand megawatt electricity to Pakistan.
The delegation would finalize the laying of transmission line of five hundred KV to import one thousand megawatt hydel electricity under Central Asia South Asia project.
Work on the transmission line having a total length of seven hundred fifty kilometer would be completed by year 2018 with an estimated cost of one thousand one hundred sixty million dollars.
The transmission line of five hundred KV would also be utilized for transmitting more than three hundred megawatt hydel electricity to Pakistan from Kyrgyzstan.
The working on the laying of transmission line from Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan would begin in May this year.
