Supreme Court Of Indias Youtube Channel Hacked In Latest Cyberattack

NEW DELHI – The Supreme Court of India’s YouTube channel was hacked on Friday after which videos related to court proceedings were replaced with cryptocurrency content.

The issue came to light when a video titled “Brad Garlinghouse: Ripple Responds To The SEC’s $2 Billion Fine! XRP PRICE PREDICTION” was livestreamed on the hacked channel.

Brad Garlinghouse is the CEO of Ripple Labs, a company currently embroiled in a legal dispute with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

After hacking the Supreme Court’s channel, the hackers set existing videos to private.

Reports said the top court’s administration has initiated an inquiry into the hacking of the channel, while the channel link has been deactivated.

The Indian top court was using its YouTube channel to livestream cases before constitutional benches that are of broad public interest.

Recently, the hearings related to the rape and subsequent murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata were also being broadcast through the YouTube channel.
