Arslan Asif, an emerging young singer completely amazed me

Arslan Asif a vocalist, guitarist, song writer and music producer, started his career with an underground band, performing as a lead vocalist in Islamabad. In 2007, he released his official debut track “Chu loon main Asamaa”. He emerged as a solo singer and in 2009 he released his second track “Char din ki chandni”, which was later sponsored for a video in 2011. After performing in different schools and colleges from around Pakistan his 1st solo track was released as a music video in 2013. In the same year his 3rd track “Ye kia hwa” was released.

In 2014, he created the track “Baabay”, a Rock & Rap genre song, with Fadi.G highlighting social issues based on the perverted nature of an old man. In the following year as excitement spread in anticipation of the World cup, “Josh e Lahu” was released and sparked great support for the Pakistani cricket team.

Arslan Asif has been working more on motivational music and songs based on socio political issues, including his upcoming song “Apnay Karam”. Performing live for an audience has always been his passion while recording covers of different songs is his motivation. In most of the covers and in his own songs Arslan delves into ‘Alternative Rock’. A socially active performer, he is looking forward for to a live performance in Karachi & Lahore.

I would like to review one of the songs of this new young singer to appreciate his talent and his beautiful and melodious voice. Although all his tracks are different from one and other and has some beautiful message to convey but I personally loved his song “Chaar Din Ki Chandni”.

Chaar Din Ki Chandni is a slow track with lively tape beats, beautiful soulful voice and progressive lyrics. The chord progression of the bass notes deliver an amicable song.

This is a sad song with heart-warming elements and voices. The controlled rhythm progression and interlinking BGM’s are establishing an emotion.

A morose soliloquy with just the voice and the backing from the chords.

With guitar and drum beats setting the mood, Arslan Asif voice elevate the pathos into a light song. The piano and the drum beats in the prelude are refreshing. The song is equably poised throughout and that’s an effort to be credited.

“Char din ki Chandni” is purely a situation based song that pretty much serves the purpose.

The lyrics say that this life of glitters and gold is just a matter of few days. You will remember what I said when all this will fade. You will be depending on me at the sea shore and same thing will be happening. You didn’t tell me anything and this night is the reward to it. Your silence is calling and killing me. The lyrics of the song are beautifully written and the song is composed in even better way. I loved this number and how beautifully the meaning of life and its harsh experience is elaborated in such a melodious track.

This song is a must listen for all those who understand life and enjoy such slow and meaningful music.
