Asia’s first-ever Social Sciences Expo in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Pakistan’s capital city will be hosting Asia’s first-ever two days Social Sciences Expo on Wednesday at Pak China Friendship Centre.

The expo is aimed to educate masses about the growth prospects and impact of social sciences on society. Different organisations and universities would also display their stalls at the expo.

The activities include a two days international conference, parliamentary forum, scholars forum, diplomats forum, book festival, culture pavilions expo, distribution of Social Sciences Awards, workshops for university faculty students and career counseling sessions.

In order to encourage the participation of youth, various activities including workshops and competitions have been chalked out. On the first day of the expo, there will be a great event of producing the largest water colour painting of the world.

According to spokesman of Inter-University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences (IUCPSS), this expo will be organised with alliance of more than 30 universities of the country aiming to celebrate 2016 as the year of social sciences.

The IUCPSS, in collaboration with partner organisations and member universities, will also arrange a number of countrywide events as a follow-up of the roadmap for strengthening social sciences in Pakistan, the spokesman added.
