ISLAMABAD – Pakistani scholar Junaid Memon has received much-needed support from Ismail Global and the Hamid Ismail Foundation for his DPhil in Engineering Science at the prestigious University of Oxford.
The milestone not only marks a personal achievement for Memon but also underscores the commitment of Ismail Global and Hamid Ismail Foundation to empower Pakistan’s brightest minds and foster technological advancement.
A product of Pakistan’s public education system, Junaid Memon graduated with a degree in electronics engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology in Karachi, where he earned a gold medal for his exceptional performance. He furthered his education by completing a master’s degree in electrical engineering at North Carolina State University as a Fulbright scholar, specializing in instrumentation and control systems.
With the generous backing of Ismail Global and the Hamid Ismail Foundation, Junaid is poised to embark on his DPhil research, focusing on groundbreaking advancements in multi-agent systems. This area of study holds significant promise for influencing Pakistan’s technological landscape.
In addition to his academic accomplishments, Junaid has actively contributed to engineering research and practice in Pakistan. He co-led the Karachi Water Project, where he played a crucial role in developing a scalable network of smart water flow meters to address the city’s pressing water management challenges. His innovative solutions for infrastructure have earned him recognition as an emerging leader in Pakistan’s engineering sector.
Junaid’s commitment to education extends beyond research; he has also taught engineering at Habib University in Karachi, where he received the Distinguished Award in Teaching Excellence.
