ISLAMABAD – Pakistani government successfully airlifted 67 Pakistani nationals from Lebanon and Syria, with a special flight bringing them to the country’s largest city in the early hours of Wednesday.
Upon arrival at Jinnah International Airport, the evacuated Pakistanis were greeted with special arrangements made by authorities to ensure a smooth transition. This effort reflects the government’s commitment to safeguarding its citizens amid the ongoing crisis in the region.
Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Federal Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, and Sindh Minister for Industries Jan Ikram Dharejo welcomed the evacuees. Tessori also assured that remaining Pakistanis stranded in war-hit nation would be repatriated soon.
Officials called it a challenging task but the Foreign Office took full responsibility for ensuring the safe return of Pakistani nationals.
The situation in the Middle East, specifically in Lebanon, become increasingly dire due to escalating military actions. Beirut emerged as the focal point of conflict, prompting countries worldwide to take swift measures to repatriate their citizens from the volatile area.
In response to the Israeli offense, several nations, including Pakistan, arranged special flights to ensure the safety of their citizens.
