ISLAMABAD –   National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq held an important meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Monday, during which both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing Pakistan-China relations across various sectors.

In the meeting, the two leaders discussed strengthening ties between the National Assembly of Pakistan and the Chinese Parliament. They also emphasized the need for expanding trade relations and boosting economic cooperation between the two nations, particularly through joint ventures in energy and infrastructure development.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq underscored the importance of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, which Pakistan is hosting this year. He expressed pride in this significant diplomatic achievement, highlighting how the summit would promote regional cooperation and peace while also improving Pakistan’s image on the global stage.

“Pakistan attaches great value to the SCO platform,” Sadiq said, “and it will serve as a vital forum for regional development and stability.”

The Speaker further emphasized the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which continues to play a pivotal role in the economic partnership between the two countries. He noted that CPEC projects offer vast investment opportunities in various sectors, which are crucial for Pakistan’s economic growth.

Sadiq also stressed the importance of enhancing collaboration in education, technology, and scientific research, pointing out that cooperation in the digital economy could yield immense benefits for Pakistan’s development.

During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, agreeing to deepen future cooperation. They also agreed to promote exchanges of parliamentary delegations to strengthen parliamentary collaboration and mutual understanding between the two nations.

The meeting between Sadiq and Premier Li Qiang has set the stage for continued cooperation between Pakistan and China, building on the long-standing friendship between the two nations.
