Suspected suicide attacker of Lahore blast identified, 4 brothers, uncle arrested

LAHORE (Staff report) – Suspected suicide bomber of Lahore blasts has been identified as Yousuf, son of Ghulam Farid.

According to the suspect’s ID card, the terrorist belonged to Muzaffargarh, was born on January 1, 1988.

The bomber had been teaching at a seminary for eight years in Lahore after completing his religious education in Dera Ghazi Khan.

The terrorist, who killed at least 72 people and injured more than 300, had obtained the mobile SIM from Islamabad on 19th September 2013.

Police conducted raid in Basti Baitwala and arrested four brothers and an uncle of the suspected terrorist.

The blast occurred in the parking area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park, just outside the exit gate and a few feet (metres) away from children´s swings.

At least 20 kgs of explosives were used in the bomb along with ball bearings.
