Foreign PIA head to get millions in salary without proper clearance

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has increased by Rs 0.8 million salary package of its foreigner Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Brand Hildon, raising it from Rs1.2 million to Rs2 million despite his incomplete security clearance.

Hildon is a German national who has a wide-ranging experience in the aviation field and had been serving in Lufthansa Airline for around 40 years. His security matters have not been cleared completely.

The PIA’s spokesperson conceded an increase in the package of serving CEO, adding that the salary is not compatible with the status of Hildon and it is matter of pride that man of high caliber like Hildon is working in Pakistan. Performance of PIA has improved following his appointment.

As for as the matter of his security clearance is concerned, he added, an institution has accorded security clearance certificate about him and this certificate will be provided by other agency soon.

He further said that Hildon is not being paid handsome package as compared to the chiefs of other corporations who are receiving Rs5 million monthly but we will increase his package as soon betterment comes in the performance of national flag carrier.
