India resorts to unprovoked firing along Working Boundary

ISLAMABAD – Indian forces resorted to unprovoked firing along the Working Boundary in Zafarwal sector, ISPR said in a press release on Monday.

According to Intra Services Public Relations, Indian forces targeted Lambrial check post early Monday, a day after Pakistan observed Kashmir Day to show solidarity with the Kashmiris in their struggle for freedom.

Pakistan Rangers Punjab retaliated effectively at the same time thus silencing the Indian guns. No loss of lives was reported.

Exchange of fire between forces of two nuclear-armed neighbours is becoming a routine despite the ceasefire agreement.

It is relevant to mention that relations between India and Pakistan plummeted after the Uri attack that left 18 soldiers dead.

India blamed Pakistan for the attack but Pakistan categorically denied the allegations in this regard.

The tension simmered once again after India claimed that they had carried out a surgical strike inside Pakistan in September, which Pakistan simply shrugged off.

Both nuclear-armed neighbours also expelled the other’s high commission staffers following allegations of espionage.

Recently India targeted a passenger bus in Neelum Valley that left nine passengers dead. Moreover, three Pakistani soldiers also lost their lives in the attack.
