SHEIKHUPURA – At least four suspects were shot dead in two separate operations in Faisalabad and Sheikhupura late Wednesday, police sources said.
As per reports, the suspects named Qaisar and Fayyaz were involved in serious crimes including robberies and were being escorted for recovery of robbed items when their accomplices opened fire on the police team near Khanwala to free the detainees.
During the gun battle, the two arrested suspects received serious injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment but they could not survive.
However, one of the assaulters was also injured during the exchange of fire, but they managed to flee from the scene.
In another raid in Sheikhupura,, two suspected robbers were killed in another encounter.
According to the police, armed robbers were busy looting the people on Sargodha Road and opened fire upon spotting a police vehicle.
In retaliation, the two robbers died on the spot while the other fled from the spot taking advantage of the darkness.
